Since I haven't mentioned it here, I have decided this will be the Robert Redford movie litter for their registered names. So, all will have registered names like this: Fireside's (insert name of movie here). I'm hoping the future puppy owners will use a call name from a character from the movie or something that ties to their registered names. For example, Fireside's The Horse Whisperer with the call name "Booker."
This weekend will be setting up the whelp box and getting myself and my house organized. I am going to take Grainger on a practice weight pull Saturday morning since he hasn't pulled in a LONG time, then I will pick up Oakley, who will be with me through at least New Years. I got some nice x-pens off Craigslist, so I need to bleach those for future use.
The GME and 2nd Step arrived yesterday, so I will have plenty of goat's milk and weaning food available for the babies when the time is right. I bought about 20 rolls of paper towels, friends have given me newspapers, and I got about 20 of these great blankets from a woman who sanitizes the slightly torn or iodine stained medical blankets from hospitals. Great find!
I'm going to miss having Thanksgiving with my family this year, but the trade-off for puppies is so worth it! Sounds like my mom may come for a visit that weekend - little does she know, she may be on puppy watching duty while I get some sleep and a shower. Yay for moms!
In closing for today, Happy Veteran's Day - thank you to all who have served our country!
