The pupsters are amazing - they are such a fun, social bunch. They are all doing great, growing big and strong, and having a blast playing with new things. For Christmas, they got a few new toys - including the very popular turtle toy that crinkles and is great for pouncing! I took a video yesterday of them with their first tug toy, and it's posted below. They are hilarious to watch and to play with.
Their personalities are becoming more and more pronounced. Green is still the most active, alert, and observant. He doesn't miss anything and is the first to pop up when I am anywhere near the pen! Waldo is the most playful and has emerged as the leader of the group except when River decides he's not. River is truly in charge of the boys, but she's very nice about it, and they all respect her. Blue is the happy-go-lucky puppy who kind of fits right in the middle of the rest. Black and Orange are the most laid back, but Black and River are still very good buds and spend a lot of time playing together. Orange plays, but is often very content to watch the others figure out new things before he tries it himself. Nothing really bothers Orange - as long as he gets a good spot in the food pan and a prime spot in the sleeping pile.
New things they have experienced since my last post: new toys such as a paper towel tube, a plastic water bottle, the crinkle turtle, and the fleece tug toy. They also have a new ball that rolls and makes noises, so you'll hear that ball in the video as well. They also have plastic plant pans that are turned upside down to climb on/over. They had a box they could crawl through and tip over, but it has since been destroyed by teething puppies. They have heard the fire alarm go off, they continue to meet the vacuum cleaner and the Dremel, they have been brushed, they have had their ears cleaned, they have had plastic bags shaken around them, they have met the broom, and they continue to meet new people. They have all had at least one pseudo-bath (just warm water - no soap), and they often walk through their water pan. I'm determined to have at least a couple of them enjoy water! So far, Black, Blue, and Orange think water isn't so bad. River thinks her name is ironic because water is only to consume. Green and Waldo are still on the fence about water.
This Friday and Saturday are supposed to be warm (50s/60s), so the puppies will have their first outside experience on the front yard. I can't wait to see them experience grass and sticks. It's supposed to rain on Sunday, but it should still be pretty warm, so they may have a short experience in the rain before they get a nice warm bath.
They are now eating only Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy food - with water added just before I put it down for them, so it's no longer being soaked. They eat four meals a day - around 7am, 12:30pm, 5:30pm, and 11pm. Their weights are all between 10 and 12 pounds, and everyone has a great appetite and drinks plenty of water. They are a very happy and healthy bunch!
Enjoy the video! Will do pictures this weekend.
