We had some good friends over today to visit the puppies and to take their three week pictures. We set up a little photo drop for Christmas - I posted their head shots on their litter page, but I am posting the whole picture of Blue boy, so you can see how we set it up: Here are some additional pictures Michael and Lauren took of the gang. Thank you for visiting and for taking some adorable pictures!

The puppies are growing fast, and we're almost ready for Christmas. I hope to have some really cute 3-week old pictures tomorrow with the help of a good friend who takes beautiful pictures.
River continues to be a fantastic mother. I've even been able to move back to my bedroom after sleeping on an air mattress in the living room floor next to the whelping box for almost three weeks. I can start to see some personalities developing. Blue boy was the first to escape the whelping box. Purple girl's antics make me laugh (as you can see from some of the pictures below). Bright green, Purple, Naked girl, and Black girl like to snuggle with River and be close to her. Hunter boy is quite vocal - although he's not very demanding of attention. It's hard not to have favorites... they are really fun puppies. Enjoy the candids from the last couple days. Click on each picture for the captions. They say that a puppy will help ease the pain of losing a beloved dog. Well, my best bud Grainger left this world the day before River's nine puppies arrived. For a dog like Grainger, nine puppies were about how many I needed to begin to fill the hole in my heart. Here are just a couple of pictures from his last days with me. He was happy and we were able to spend a beautiful fall day outside in the sunshine. You can see more pictures of him on his page. I'm working on writing about our story and our fight with canine epilepsy. I will continue to push for Canine Epilepsy Awareness for Grainger and for all other dogs with this horrible disease. River and the puppies are doing great! The pups are growing fast - all are over 3 pounds each now, and they are all strong and active. Their eyes opened this week, and they are all doing a great "drunk" walk around the whelping box. I was back at work this week, so my mother came into town to watch River and the puppies for me. I apologize for not having better 2 week old pictures, but until I get better pictures this weekend, the ones on the Breedings tab will have to do. Here are some additional candids:
River free-whelped nine beautiful puppies on 12/2-12/3/14 - 7 girls and 2 boys. You can follow their growth on their litter page (click here). Mom and babies are all doing great. The puppies are growing fast, and they are all strong and very well-marked.
