She's been a talker since the day I picked her up from her breeder. She talks in the morning, she talks when she sees her family, and she lets out BIG Swissy BAROOs when she sees the neighbors, another dog, or simply just needs to let it out. She has a lot of energy and enjoys playing with the two kids she lives with - age 3 and age 7. She's a huge dog, but she's very gentle with children and loves to meet new people. She's protective of her family, and she's always happy to alert her family to noises - even when it's not exactly appreciated.
Oakley never met a piece of food she didn't like - she will dive under the oven for a crumb - and move it several inches because she doesn't always remember that she won't FIT under the oven. She's a jealous dog that will push the other dogs out of the way to get attention, but she's not a fighter.
Unlike my other dogs, Oakley is not extremely affectionate in a traditional way. She loves her family, and she wants an ear scratch and a few pats on the head, but she's not usually a cuddly dog. She wants to be close to her people and wants to be in the same room with them, but she doesn't need to have constant attention.
She's just fantastic. She's a wonderful dog, an awesome mother, and just a lot of fun. She's beautiful, sweet, and she loves her people. She's quirky and loud, but it's part of her charm! Maybe some people who have met her or know her can add some comments... I don't know what else to say about her, but I couldn't ask for a better brood bitch.
Here's a picture of her taken at the National Specialty in October. See what I mean about that beautiful head and sweet expression?!?!?!?!
