Their personalities continue to emerge, but it's still way too early to make any definitive conclusions about how they will be down the road. But, at the moment, the really gentle, cuddly puppies are RJ and Red. When I pick them up, they just relax and settle in - as close as they can get. The most playful/dominant puppies at the moment are Black and Teal - they are usually chewing/gumming one of their littermates and do play growls already. Hunter and Pink are the ones that tend to sit back and observe and wait for attention. They are very sweet when they get one-on-one attention. Bright Green is the most "in your face" demanding attention and is very spunky. Purple likes to curl up in my lap, but she's not as calm as Red and RJ about being held. She makes the sweetest noises when I'm petting her, and she loves to have her ears rubbed. Blue is a little bit of everything - can be cuddly, spunky, and likes his chin scratches. He seems to be the most mobile at the moment - doing a couple laps around the whelping box and is the most steady on his feet. He was also the first one to follow Oakley out of the whelping box the other day. So, the opening of the box has another level in it to prevent escaping puppies.
Oakley is still being an extremely doting mother, and the puppies are growing steadily. They are getting their nails trimmed every 2-3 days, as they are growing like mad, and I want to keep Oakley comfortable while they are nursing. It's also great to get them used to having their nails done early and often.
They turn 3 weeks old tomorrow, and I will work on getting individual pictures and/or individual videos tomorrow. Here are some pictures taken over the last couple of days to tide you over....
