The conformation and temperament evaluations will be done just a few days before they turn eight weeks old. They will get to see horses from a distance and meet their papa, Keygan. There will be loads of new people to meet, too.
In other news... they are eating some solid foods - a mixture of GME/2nd Step in a sort of gruel with soaked ProPlan Large Breed Puppy kibble. They now eat out of a jumbo muffin pan - which has six individual spaces, which is PERFECT. Thanks to Keygan's breeders, Peggy and David Roderick of Rippling Waters kennel, for that idea. It's brilliant. Oakley is officially finished nursing them - other than them having sharp teeth, I cannot imagine why. Hah. Her duties now consist of playing with the puppies and cleaning them occassionally - especially after they eat - they are covered with puppy food and taste yummy. At the end of day 2 of using the designated "bathroom area," the puppies use the correct location about 50% of the time. Waldo, Black, and Orange are the best about using it, while River is probably the worst about using the wrong area.
It's going to be a quiet Christmas at Fireside Swissys - I am really missing my non-furry family, but I am so greatful for all my sweet, healthy dogs and puppies.
