My friend Jack, who is a breeder-extraordinaire, is going to be at my house for the whelping as an extra set of hands and eyes/ears to keep ME calm and assist if necessary. Good friend!
The house seems really empty without Grainger and Daphne there, but Oakley's personality is big enough to be in the house by herself for sure. She's doing very well and starting to have some very slight initial signs. Today is my last day of work before my "puppy time off," so the timing is perfect. Daphne is enjoying her time at the Krellwitz house, and Grainger is enjoying Swissypalooza with Melissa and Papa Keygan. Today will be the draft run throughs - both single and brace with Keygan - and weight pull after dinner. Good luck, Grainger! Tomorrow is the first draft trial - both single and brace with Keygan - and a second weight pull after dinner. Sunday is the second draft trial, and he's entered both as a single and as a brace team with Keygan again on Sunday. Sending good thoughts towards Pickens, SC for him to work well for Melissa. I'm sad to not be there - and hopefully put his last VGS (Versatility Greater Swiss) requirement on him myself - but he couldn't be in better hands with Melissa.
Just a couple more days to go... please keep thinking good thoughts and say a prayer for a smooth delivery, healthy puppies, and no problems for Oakley.
